HKU Business School North China Alumni Network Celebrates 2nd Anniversary in Beijing

On August 30, 2026, over 250 alumni and distinguished guests gathered in Beijing to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the HKU Business School North China Alumni Network. The event featured an insightful academic forum and a grand anniversary dinner.
Thought Leadership Forum: Navigating Global & AI Frontiers
The event kicked off with the "Ge Wu Lun Dao" Thought Leadership Forum, moderated by Dr. Lang Yongchun (DBA Class 1). Dean Hongbin Cai delivered a keynote speech highlighting China's economic resilience and the inevitable transition of Chinese enterprises from "simple exports" to sustainable global co-existence.
Dean Cai outlined the School’s strategic initiatives—including the EMBA International Stream, DBAInternational, Going Global Strategy and Entrepreneurship programme and AI Strategic Entrepreneurship programs—designed to empower alumni at the forefront of Global Expansion and AI innovation.
Renowned scholars including Prof. Qiren Zhou (Peking University), Dr. Jianguang Shen (JD), Prof. Yuyu Chen (Peking University), Prof. Ming Zhang (CASS), and Prof. Lian Zhou (Renmin University) also shared insights on global economic trends.
Anniversary Celebration & Board Inauguration
The evening grand dinner, themed "Mingde Reflects in Beijing," opened with a performance by the Mingde Children's Choir, followed by joint poetry recitations and choral performances by alumni across undergraduate, Master's, MBA, EMBA, and DBA programs.
A key highlight was the inauguration of the Association's 2nd Board and Executive Committee. Ms. Jingyang Xu, Director of Development and Alumni Affairs, announced the official board list, and Dean Cai presented appointment letters to President Dr. Zhongmin Shen and the leadership team.
Key Initiatives Launched: North China Alumni Association 2.0
Four Pillars ("Think, Gather, Integrate, Heritage"): Upgrading intellectual sharing, organizational reach, value creation, and alumni mentorship.
Industry & Interest Sub-branches: Launching 7 industry chapters (Finance, AI, Energy, Global Expansion, Education, Tech, Entrepreneurship) and a Pickleball Club.
"Ice & Snow" Sports Platform: Partnering with Yabuli and Business Master Cup to establish a winter sports platform for networking.
Giving Back: All registration proceeds were donated to the School's Beyond 25 Fund to support future generations of HKU students.
